Description
Glen Douglas is a small community in The Scottish Borders with a fantastic village hall south of Jedburgh and north of The Carter Bar crossing point into England. They love old time and ceilidh dancing here under the organisation of local character and MC for the evening, John Currie.
The Gary Forrest Ceilidh Band, led by Gary himself on accordion and midi, with Roddy Matthews on fiddle and Keith Lauder on drums, first practised at the hall for their BBC broadcast back in 2003 and have played since on many occasions for great nights of dancing and ceilidh friendship, coupled with wonderful borders hospitality and fellowship, over the years.
The band’s lively and trendy up-to-date style, along with their passion for tradition from both Scotland and England make them one of the most popular and busiest ceilidh bands in the area.
