Description
With this album, his second recording on CD, Elis Macfadyen has written songs around the theme of the title: Dreamers and Journeys.
The songs vary from thoughtful verses of an ethereal nature, describing feelings and experiences from his travels, through harder-hitting tales of real-life injustices to fantasy stories delivered in a sensitive manner.
There is a lot to like on this album with mesmeric tales of various journeys, The Journey and Reality and Rebel Dreams, Scottish-themed Dreams of Lochaber, humorous Roadside Acquaintance, Roving Journeyman which earned Elis a finalist spot in a songwriting competition, and the profound Living my Life this Way.
Elis has added vocal arrangements and delicate guitar parts to express the mood and feeling of the songs. He has been very ably assisted by some extremely talented musicians in making this album, each of whom sensitively and professionally interpreted the part their instruments played on the various songs.
Lending their talents to this album are Rachel Campbell (Fiddle/Vocal) Ed Sloggie (Accordion) Alan Macfadyen (Bass) Dave McIntosh (Drums) and Steve Bull (Piano). Steve Bull with his easy-going relaxed manner also did an inspired job with recording and production, while Chris Waite mastered the final product.
