Description
Robert Severin is a British-Hungarian, Glasgow-based, singer/songwriter and guitarist. His debut album, Postcard from Budapest, is a collection of works inspired by biographical fragments, historical snapshots and reflections on the legacy of his heritage.
Robert relates these episodes in both narrative and lyrical forms, brought to life by his affecting melodies. He has also written songs about his own family background for this collection. Robert’s compositions, complemented by Innes Watson’s elegant and captivating string arrangements, have drawn comparisons to the music of Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen and The Beatles, among others.
The acclaimed Scottish string quartet, Innotet, featuring Seonaid Aitken, Innes Watson, Patsy Reid and Alice Allen, contributed to four of the eleven songs, with Seonaid and Innes also providing additional vocals on three of them.
