Description
Fickle Fortune is the debut album from BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2014 Robyn Stapleton. Robyn performs the traditional songs of her Scottish and Irish heritage in Scots, English and Gaelic. She is described as having one of the finest voices in Scottish music, with a uniquely pure tone, wonderful control and an empathy and sensitivity for traditional songs.
Robyn is building a strong reputation as both a song leader and tutor, keen to pass on her knowledge of traditional music to others. Robyn is very proud of her own Scots dialect and, in 2014, became an Ambassador of the Scots Language. She was awarded Person of the Year 2014 at the Dumfries and Galloway Life Awards and was nominated for Scots Singer of the Year at the MG Alba Traditional Music Awards.
