This is our second release of piano music and songs by Walter Leigh, and it features mostly early works including the Piano Sonata of 1926, which is recorded for the first time. In fact, only the piano piece, Eclogue, and the song, By the Dark Lagoon, (both later works) have been recorded before.

Leigh’s musical output is hugely versatile, and even these early pieces show a highly stylistic breadth, and a sure-footed adaptability which set him up as a busy, enterprising and adventurous composer during the nineteen thirties.
